Driveway Replacement · Greensboro & the Triad
Drivewayswe've poured.
Tear-out, new pour, cleanup and grass seed. Here's the work.
Under the surface
What's underyour driveway.
- 1
Compacted subgrade. The ground underneath, packed tight so nothing settles.
- 2
Gravel base. Drains water and gives the slab a solid bed.
- 3
Sand. A smooth, level layer between the gravel and the concrete.
- 4
Steel on chairs. Reinforcement held up in the middle of the slab, not lying on the ground.
- 5
4-inch slab. The concrete itself, poured at full thickness.
- 6
Control joint. A planned weak line so any crack happens where we want it.
- 7
Broom finish. Texture on top so it's not slick when wet.
- 8
Slope away from the garage. Water runs off, not toward your house.
- 9
Expansion joint. A cushion where new concrete meets the garage slab.
- 10
Seeded lawn edge. Grass seed put down before we leave.
